Fouriériste français né vers 1828, Jacques Blot arriva d’Alsace en 1855 pour participer à l’expérience communautaire de Réunion (Texas). Il y travailla sans doute comme laboureur. Il quitta la colonie en 1857 et mourut peu après victime du choléra à Houston (Texas), le jour même où il devait embarquer pour la France.
